Firewood, Food and Features

I have always loved arboretums. I never thought I would have one of my own!

The central concept of the barracks is to live the best life possible in a climate catastrophic world. Almost everything that you can understand by this can be at least in part achieved by the planting of a lot of trees.

I want to live somewhere beautiful - plant trees

I am going to get older and more decrepit. Growing food trees returns more food every year, for less work. The trees get bigger, and produce more nuts and fruits and I have to tend to them less. The food that comes off trees requires no processing. Pick it off the ground and either eat it or put it in the stores. Magical.

Winters are going to get more unpredictable. I'm going to need firewood. Around here, 1 hectare of mature forest increases its volume by around 6 - 8 cubic meters per year. I need about 6 - 8 cubic meters of wood per year. I'd better get up to about 2ha then. We like 100% redundancy.

When I moved in, I identified about 20 varieties of tree. I'm up to 50-something now. Here they are.
